Work Packages Progress
List of analytes, assays and fluorescence labels – WFSR
Definition of a list of relevant analytes (among pesticides, microbiological constituents and heavy metals), biorecognition assays (i.e. aptamers and antibodies) and fluorescent labels for plasmonic-enhanced fluorescence in conjunction with the creation of a database.
Specification of optoelectronic and plasmonic requirements of single elements – CNR
Definition of the desired characteristics of the light-emitting devices, the spectrally selective phototransistor and the nanoplasmonic grating to ensure their cooperative operation at the highest sensitivity for both LSPR and PEF detection modalities.
It aims at fabricating the optoplasmonic chip, which represents the miniaturized multimodal photonic platform for detection in the h-ALO sensor.
It is devoted to i) the development of bio-recognition assays to be used in the h-ALO sensor and ii) the activation and functionalization of the sensing surface of the optoplasmonic chip realized in WP2
It involves the development of the on-site equipment and the accompanying procedures to extract, select, concentrate and deliver analytes from a range of selected samples to the optoplasmonic chip for their detection in the sensor. The overall system microfluidics will be developed in synergic interaction with WP1 and WP5, for an overall optimized geometry and functioning of the sensor.
It includes the development of the electrical system to connect the sensor with a communications unit for the data transfer to a mobile device. WP5 envisages the mechanical integration of a handheld h-ALO prototype and the assessment of its performance for final optimization before the analysis of real-samples.
It includes the in-lab and on-site demonstration of the h-ALO sensor using real samples (i.e. craft beer, water from aquaponics, raw milk, organic honey) provided by end-users.
Professional communication kit – first release – WH
Report on the high-quality communication package developed at the beginning of the project to be used by the project consortium. The aim is to define a project’s graphic identity and to communicate project’s objectives, achievements and expected results to a wide public and scientific community.
Coordination of activities, management and assessment of results.
